Has there been any thoughts about setting up a cookie like expiry for local storage? I saw a pretty good implementation of this done by Pamela Fox called lscache. http://otherfancystuff.blogspot.com/201 ... cache.html

Could be a handy 4th (optional) argument on the setItem method.

Even though in the same domain, userdata store is available only in the same directory,
it is bad for imitating HTML5 Storage, do you have some ideas to handle this

UserData is a last resort, since it's the only way to support anything like localStorage in old versions of IE. The only way to provide a better fallback for those browsers would be to use a plugin, such as Flash, for storage. This is what the YUI 2 Storage Utility does, but since the idea behind Storage Lite is to be as lightweight as possible, I've avoided using a Flash fallback.

I think you made the right choice. This is, after all , the "lite" version. This is part of the reason why I've chosen to use this gallery lib instead of the heavyweight YUI2 version.

Yeah, actually I love Storage Lite very much, because it is really lightweight and easy to use.

Hi,

Nice module!

I just wanted to point out your github links are incorrect on your YUI Gallery page.

http://yuilibrary.com/gallery/show/storage-lite

(ie http://https//github.... should be https://github...)

Thanks!
