Trimming spaces around "adjacent sibling" selector is breaking in Safari

Turns out Safari doesn't like to recognize any CSS rules selected with the adjacent sibling selector (the '+' character) -- or at least, on some tags. In my testing, it fails when combining the <header> and <nav> tags:

http://jsfiddle.net/mholt/Uj9xJ/ (Notice the text which should be green)

All other major browsers render this correctly. The YUI CSS Compressor removes whitespace except in certain selectors (since a space indicates "any descendant of"), but it's actually causing our website to render improperly in Safari after going through our build process.

This isn't a bug so much in YUI Compressor as it is in Safari, but until Apple patches Safari... we'll need to give it what it wants.
