I'd like to use one Rich Text Editor instance to edit multiple textareas. But I want to visually detach the editor instance from the textarea being manipulated. See this nicEdit example for what I'm trying to accomplish:

When a specified textarea receives focus, the editor become enabled. When no specified textareas have focus, the editor is disabled. Is this possible with RTE? If so, how can it be done?
