Is there any way to get the forum to display an actual (and optional) name as well as my username. The old yahoo groups forum for yui did this and I rather liked it. I find real names are nicer to use than username and make electronic communications more personal.
For example if you look at http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/ydn-javascript/message/42271. You can see my name as well as my username. Even using your name as your username can be confusing unless people already know your name. For example I wouldn't recognize davglass as a username based on a real name unless I already knew Dav Glass was a person likely to be on this forum. |

It will take some doing to get the full names in the Bug Tracker, but I am working on it. As well as a bbcode tag for tickets

I'm a work-a-holic and I maintain the site, so I have to update after hours to make sure I don't break anything

Hi Flynn,
I modified the file as you suggested, but within the comments section there is still the username visible and not the full name. I tested it with existing comments and new comments created after the change. Is there anything else that needs to be done? |
