I have used YUI 2 for a about 2 years but have not moved to YUI 3 primarily because it does not seem to be moving toward a production release. Most components/widgets seem to remain forever stuck in beta. Is YUI 3 worth my investment or is it withering on the vine?

David --
YUI 3 has been production ready since the 3.0.0 GA release when it was used in production on the Yahoo! home page. YUI 3 is taking a different approach with all the "components/widgets" that you mentioned. We are concentrating more on making the core utilities and core widget's as light, fast and configurable as possible. Knowing that this will take time is one of the main reasons we launched the YUI Gallery. The Gallery is meant for the community to build, maintain and deploy solid first class YUI 3 widget's without having to wait on the Core YUI Team to produce them. |

Thanks. I guess it is time to make the investment.

Hello david.
You may consider YUI 2 in 3: http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/3/exampl ... ompat.html Regards, IceBox |

Thanks for a useful link, Alberto. That's a clever solution. I'm definitely gonna use it with my brand new YUI3.
