The YUI project team is focused in the next couple of weeks on the 2.7.0 release, of which the most important part is ensuring a stable experience for IE8 users. As a result, you'll see less activity in the 3.x codebase on GitHub (http://github.com/yui/yui3/tree/master) than has been typical.
Eric MiragliaWith that said, we've also been working on the roadmap for the 3.0.0 beta 1 rollout, and our internal planning forecasts that release to be code-complete in May and out with updated docs in June. (You'll have access to the code via GitHub along the way, and you'll be able to start playing with it before the official release, obviously, if you'd care to.) Beta 1 will bring the core of the library to near-completion, and we'll iterate on beta releases until we're confident that we have a stable candidate for GA. We expect that the 3.0.0 GA release that emerges will bring to GA the following modules:
The widget foundation and all sample widgets will remain in beta, as will the datasource module, until the subsequent 3.1 release to provide additional time to exercise those APIs. We'll include in beta form all widgets that are nearing functional completeness, but no widget will be a GA candidate until 3.1. Look for checkin activity to return to normal levels after mid-February. We'll post more details on some of the key changes between PR2 and beta 1 as those changes make their way into the head on GitHub. -Eric http://ericmiraglia.com twitter:miraglia |
