Perhaps taking something like MU http://mu.daaku.org/docs/index.html
and wrapping it with YUI -- or perhaps MU is good enough?

I think it's a good idea. It will be accessible and a lot of profile details will be readily available. Hmm...

Well, it's a pretty good idea since almost all sites that needs registration seem to utilize that. It's mostly for ease of access since some people really doesn't want to fill up long forms and stuff. Well, who likes filling up long forms?
